| Guiness the Cat on October 17, 2015 |
Feline author and President of the Professional Cat Bloggers Association Guiness the Cat passed away quietly this afternoon, Sunday, October 18, 2015 at about 12:34 Eastern Time after a sudden illness.
More details will follow in his obituary.
Following a short hospitalization, Guiness came home feeling pretty good on the day before his passing. After enjoying some outside time with his human, Guiness came in for some snuggle time, followed by a nap, and then dictated two posts, one for Persona Paper and one for The Guiness Blog by Guiness the Cat , which he intended to publish today. They will be posted following this announcement.
Guiness the Cat will be greatly missed in the Cat Blogging world, but by no one more than his human.
Please don't take his blog down. He was so special. The Catblog cat suddenly came and sat on me last night and would not get off and it made me wonder as she rarely does that. No more pain and in kitty heaven romping with all four legs mong the Jonquils.

ReplyDeletePlease assure Guiness's colleague Freya the Catblog Cat that this blog will most assuredly remain. Guiness left a wealth of posts that had been removed from another site that will be archived here, and there are plenty of previously unpublished photos left. Guiness wrote a couple of new posts the day before he passed away, while he was feeling good, but it was such a good day that they seemed much too bleak to publish then. He had planned to publish them the next day, but he slipped into a coma some time that morning. Guiness, as you know, was the brains of this partnership, and it was beneath him to do all the technical grunt work like prepping and uploading photos and pasting text into the editor. That was always my job, and I just have not had the heart to do it yet. We shot lots of good photos that day. It's been painful to try to pick just a few.
Guiness has gone to lay on God's golden driveway where God has prepared more cardboard boxes than he can imagine. It may be a very long time before I'm able to eat a can of tuna with no one to share the tuna juice with.
